He has about 26 years of teaching and research experience, joined as a Lecturer in applied Chemistry, ISM in 1986. worked as Ex-HOD, Department of Applied Chemistry. Basically a synthetic organic chemist, he has developed keen interest in R&D work on fly ash characterization and utilization.. He has special interest in the development of surface modified cenospheres. He is recipient of UGC Visiting Associate to RRL, Bhopal during the period 1994-97. he has guided four Ph. Ds and a number M. Phil/ M. Tech students for their dissertation. He has filed application for three patents.

18 year of research experience in the field of synthetic inorganic / organometalic chemistry. A recipient of several national and international scholarships throughout the academic career. Worked at Delhi University; Australian National University, Canberra; , and University of Sheffield, England. Working at ISM as faculty member since 1998. Engaged in collaborative work with Delhi University, Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (Ahmedabad Centre), and Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad. Guided 4 numbers of M. Phil and one Ph. D. students. Two students are presently working under his guidance for PhD degree. Recently he has bagged INSA award as Visiting Scientist at IICT, Hyderabad.

Joined the Department as a Lecturer in 1988 and was subsequently promoted to Assistant Professor in 2000. He has handled two externally funded projects on spontaneous combustion of coal along with Prof D.C.Panigrahi of Department of Mining Engineering. Currently engaged in work on corrosion and wear of slurry pipelines, separation, characterization and utilization of fly ash and electrochemical leaching of sulfide ores. He has guided one PhD and three students are currently registered under him.

Joined the Department as Assistant Professor on 23rd March 2007. Got Ph.D. degree in Applied Chemistry from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi in 1999. Received two research projects, one from Department of Science and Technology. New Delhi under Fast Track Young Scientist Scheme and the other by U.G.C., New Delhi, on the topic synthesis of coordination compounds of transition metal ions and their application as corrosion inhibitors. One student has submitted Ph.D. thesis and other four are working for Ph.D. degree.

He has joined in the department on 12th October 2007. He did his Ph.D from Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad. He moved to Kochi University, Japan as a post doctoral researcher and then he joined as a visiting scientist at National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science & Technology, Tsukuba, Japan His research interest is on development of porous material and nanomaterials for using as a heterogeneous catalyst. He has several international publications and patents.

He has joined the department on 9th November 2007. He received his Ph.D. from Cochin University of Science and Technology in 2002 and worked as postdoctoral fellow in different universities in South Korea for close to 5 years. Trained as an inorganic chemist he has developed interest in the field of supramolecular chemistry, Bio-inorganic chemistry, Metal-organic frameworks, functional materials and crystal engineering and has several international publications to his credit.

He has joined in the department on 12th August 2009. He did his Ph. D from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He was working as R&D Scientist at Hindustan Gum & Chemicals Ltd., Bhiwani, Haryana during Nov ’04 to Sept. ’06 and as Lecturer in the Department of Applied Chemistry of BIT Mesra, Ranchi from Nov ’06 to 11th Aug ’09. He is having 8 years of research experience in the field of polymer chemistry. His research interest is on development of novel polymeric biomaterials and applications in the field of control drug delivery, flocculation, viscosifiers and drag reducers. Presently he is having 22 international publications, two book chapters and one patent. One of his Ph. D. Student has submitted his dissertation and another Ph. D. student is working under him.

He has also spent a year at National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan as a post-doctoral fellow. His research interests include Organic Synthesis and Organic Photochemistry.
