The department has undertaken research projects in various areas like

i) Characterization and utilization of fly ash

ii) Development of corrosion inhibitors for casing steel used in oil wells during acidization

iii) Prevention of scale formation in oil wells

iv) Beneficiation of china clay

v) Thermal analysis

vi) Organometallic compounds as chiral catalysts

vii) Synthesis of frother reagents

viii) Porous and nanomaterials for using as heterogeneous catalysts for different reactions

Presently there are seven full time Ph.D students and a number of part time scholars working in the department.
