Dr. G.P. Biswas is the Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engg., Indian school of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad, since 1999. Before joining ISM, he was engaged in a research project on the “Designing of CA/PCA based BIST structure for VLSI (soft/hard) cores”, sponsored by M/s Fujitsu Microelectronics, USA, with the Dept. of Comp. Sc. & Tech., BE College, Sibpur, Howrah, WB. He has around 14 years of teaching and research experience, where he teaches a number of UG/PG papers including Theory of Computation, Computer Org/Arch., Computer Networks, VLSI Designs, etc., and published around 19 research papers in Journals and Conference/Seminar Proceedings. Dr. Biswas has guided several B. Tech/ M. Tech. projects. His research interest includes Cellular Automata (CA), VLSI designs, Computer Networks and Data communication. Currently he is carrying out a MHRD R&D project of amount 12.0 Lakhs on VLSI designs. |

Prasanta K. Jana joined Indian School of Mines University, Dhanbad as an
Assistant Professor in the year 2000. Currently he is a Professor and Head of
the department. He was a faculty in the department of Computer Science &
Engineering at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra from 1989 October till 2000
November. He also worked as a visiting scientist at the ACM Unit of Indian
Statistical Institute, Kolkata in 2003. In his about 21 years of teaching and
research carrier, Dr. Jana has contributed 65 research papers in several
refereed journals and conference proceedings of National and International
reputes. His main research interests include parallel algorithms, optoelectronic
parallel computing, interconnection networks, clustering, computational biology
and wireless sensor networks. He served as reviewers of many international
journals including IEEE Trans. on Parallel & Distri. Systems, IEEE Comm.
Letters, J. of Parallel & Distri. Computing, J. of Supercomputing, J. of Pattern
Recognition, Algorithmica and Intl. J. of Computers and Applications. He acted
as the program committee members of many international conferences. He also
acted as the Convener of the National Seminar on Recent Advances on
Information Technology 2007 (RAIT-07) and 1st Workshop on Parallel &
Distributed Computing (WPDC-08) and the Co-Chair of the National Seminar
RAIT-09. He visited the University of Aizu, Wakamatsu, Japan in 2003 and
Las Vegas, USA in 2008 for academic purposes. |

Dr. Chiranjeev Kumar joined Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad as Senior Lecturer in the year 2005 and has been working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering from June 2009. Before that, he has joined Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, MNNIT, (Formerly Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College, MNREC) Allahabad, UP, in 1998 and worked as Part-Time Lecturer for five semesters. In 2002, he joined Institute of Engineering and Rural Technology, IERT, Allahabad, UP and worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering till June 2005. He was the Gold Medallist of his M.E. batch at MNNIT, Allahabad in year 2001. In year 1998, he was certified as a Certified Novell Administrator (CNA) and Certified Novell Engineer (CNE). In his about 10 years of teaching and research carrier, he has contributed 26 research papers in several refereed journals and conference proceedings of National and International reputes. His main research interests include Mobility Management in Wireless Networks, Ad Hoc Networks, and Software Engineering. He is an IEEE member since 2006. He served as reviewers of many international journals including International Journal of Computer Science & Software Technology (IJCSST), International Journal of Computers & Applications (IJCA), and Iranian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering (IJECE). He has organized the National Seminar on Recent Advances on Information Technology 2007 (RAIT-07) – as Co-Convener, 1st Workshop on Parallel & Distributed Computing (WPDC-08) – as Organizing Secretary, and the National Seminar on Recent Advances on Information Technology 2009 (RAIT-09) – as Convener.

Dr. Haider Banka joined in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad an Assistant Professor in the year 2007. He has worked as a visiting Assistant Professor in the Center for Soft Computing Research, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata for three months. Before that, he was a visiting research scholar at the same unit for one year. He has also worked as a visiting Research Associate in the Department of Computer and Information Science (DISI), University of Genoa, Italy, for three months in the year of 2006. He was a Senior Research Fellow at Machine Intelligence Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, for 2 years from April 2004 to March 2006. Sukomal Pal joined Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad as an Assistant
Professor in 2010 and has been working in the Department of Computer
Science and Engineering. Prior to this, he served as a Lecturer at
Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Allahabad, UP, for
one semester during July-December 2010. Earlier he worked in a
DIT-funded project `Cross Lingual Information Access' at ISI, Kolkata
(April 2007- July 2010) and was a junior research fellow there (July
2005-April 2007). He also possesses work experience in IT industry
(Tata Consultancy Services, September 1999 - August 2003). In his
professional career, he has handled various industrial and academic
projects at different parts of India and abroad in different
capacities. Till now he has contributed an invited book chapter and 10
research papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings of
International reputes. Presently he is member of British Computer
Society -Information Retrieval Special Group (BCS-IRSG) and
Information Retrieval Society of India (IRSI). He served as a member
of the Organizing Committee of International Workshop on Research
Issues in Digital Libraries (IWRIDL -2006), International workshops of
Forum for Information Retrieval Evaluation (FIRE) in 2008 and 2010. He
was also a PC member of INitiative for the Evaluation of XML Retrieval

Xavier’s College, Calcutta, B.Sc with Honours in Physics from Presidency College, Calcutta, B.Tech in Radiophysics and
Electronics from the University of Calcutta and M.Tech in Radiophysics and Electronics from the University of Calcutta.
