The Department of Computer Science & Engineering is actively involved in research in various fields of Computer Science. Major research areas include Parallel and Distributed Processing, Network security , Computational Biology, Internet Technology, VLSI Design, Cellular Automata, Interconnection Network, Algorithms design and analysis, and Graph Theory. The Department also organizes Special Lectures by eminent professors from IITs, ISI and other reputed institutes. The department organizes workshops/Seminars regularly. Two workshops entitled "Internet and Applications" (2003) and "Multimedia Systems and Communication" (2004) were conducted fully funded by AICTE.
