interaction with RRL, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar; NML Jamshedpur.
He has carried out number of sponsored research and
consultancy projects. He has conducted two international
seminars He has guided 5 Ph D students. |

Dr Sumantra Bhattacharya, a Commonwealth Fellow has more than 25 years of experience of teaching, of research, consultancy and continuing education, of which more than 23years at ISM. He had received National Mineral Award of the Government of India in 2002, Coal Beneficiation Award of the IIME in 2003 and R. P. Bhatnagar Mineral Beneficiation Award of MGMI for the year 2003-04. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Coal Preparation – A Multinational Journal, The Open Mineral Processing Journal and of the International Advisory Board of Minerals and Metallurgical Processing. Besides, he is a referee, among others, of Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Review and Colloid and Polymer Science. Dr Bhattacharya has academic interaction with Virginia Tech, Pennsylvania State University, University of Kentucky, University of Southern Illinois, Anglo Coal, RRL Bhopal, NML Jamshedpur, Indian Railways and others. He has written a monograph and carried out 12 research and 28 consultancy projects. He has conducted 25 Executive Development Programmes. He has published 87 research papers.
