Date/Year of commissioning: 25th
August, 1976. The Department of Fuel and Mineral Engineering
is actively engaged in teaching and research activities. The department
has the distinction of launching the B Tech Programme in Mineral
Engineering, the first such course in India. It is also involved in
solving live industrial problems and serves the manpower development
besides catering to the needs of the industry by way of continuing
education programmes for the practicing engineers. It is well-equipped
laboratories for academic and research activities.
The subject Mineral Engineering deals with the beneficiation and handling
of ores, minerals and coal. India being a mineral rich country, there is a
great demand for the Mineral Engineering both within and outside the
country. Presently the department is offering the following courses: |
