Research Activities :

Internationally acclaimed R & D activities of the faculty members of the department have been instrumental in solving many longstanding problems in earth sciences and to understand various geological processes operating in the earth. The department being the premiere earth science organization, pursues its R & D activities through active interactions/collaborations with wide range of national and international academic bodies and industries. Faculty members of the department are the members of a number of IGCP projects and work in close association with various academic bodies.

Major funding agencies for the sponsored research include MHRD, DST, CSIR, AICTE, and various industries. The department in recent years has undertaken SAP and FIST programmes.
