The Department provides inputs in Mathematics, Computer Science and Statistics for the core courses of all the departments of the school. Besides the department shares the teaching loads for advanced level courses in Applied Mathematics, Numerical Methods and Computer Science. The department has also a well designed and updated M.Phil course in Applied Mathematics. A two years M.Sc. course in Mathematics and Computing has been started in 2001, designed by blending Applied Mathematics, Computer Science and Statistics.

The department has active individual involvement of faculty as well as collaborative efforts with premier institutes in Indian and abroad. The Department is well equipped with a Computation Laboratory. The facilities available in the laboratory cater the needs M Sc, M.Phil students and Research scholars.
