To promote the interaction between the professionals working in oil and gas industries and petroleum engineers the Department ha s successfully conducted a number of seminars, Symposiums, Workshop and conferences on various issues related to oil and gas industries. The Department recently organized an international conference on “Present Status and Future Trends in Petroleum Industry”, (PEGJP07) at Indian School of Mines University.

The department has conducted successfully a number of seminars / symposia in the past, details of which are given below:

National Seminar on “Problems of Offshore oil and Gas”.

National Seminar on “Enhanced Oil Recovery”.

National Seminar on “Strategies in Petroleum Production and Utilization”.

1995

National Seminar on “Energy Conservation in Mining Industry” in collaboration with PCRA Kolkata.
1998 National Seminar on “Technological Advances and Challenges in Oil and Gas Industy”.
2007 Work shop on Health, Safety and Environment in Petroleum Industry.
2007 International Seminar on ”Present Status and Future Trends in Petroleum Industry”.

Additionally, throughout the year different distinguished guest lectures are organized by the Dept. under the banner of Society of Petroleum engineers, Petrotech Society and SPE Student’s Chapter. Every year since 1975 the department organizes minimum three to four Executive Development Programme (Short Course) of 2 to 12 weeks duration for the executives of ONGC, OIL, ESSAR OIL etc.
